Summer Academy - Ensemble Linea
The Summer Academy (August 27th – September 2nd 2018) in Strasbourg (France) is open to young musicians, students and recent graduates alike, who seek to begin or improve their practice of contemporary music. The Academy features a seven-day intensive coaching in which its participants will work in solo, chamber music and ensemble settings under the supervision of musicians of international renown.
Functioning
The 2018 Linea Summer Academy features 11 instrumental music classes and one orchestra direction class. Each student receives one hour of individual instruction daily as well as a chamber music course. However, working within an ensemble is the primary functioning of the Academy, and the student ensemble has daily rehearsals in preparation for the final concert program at the end of the session. Students also have the possibility to perform in the soloist concert.
The Academy also provides each participant with a high-quality video and audio recording of the piece of his or her choice.
The Academy takes place within the Conservatoire de Strasbourg building, which provides students with spacious rooms, new pianos, and numerous available studios for an excellent work and rehearsal environment.
